Mary Branham Corley

Mary Branham Corley, resident of Saluda County, SC, passed away peacefully July 19, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Paul Corley; granddaughter, Stacy Hendrix Hurst; daughter, Paulette Corley Hendrix; and son, Baby Boy Corley.

She is survived by three children, Gwendolyn C. Shealy (Bob), Robert P. Corley (Judy), and Christy Corley Nichols; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Lois Branham Carnes of Elgin where Mrs. Corley was born and raised.

She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. She had worked for Saluda County Schools, WABCO of Batesburg, and as bailiff for Saluda County. Mrs. Mary retired as the first female magistrate for Saluda County.

A private burial with immediate family in attendance will be held at the Cleve Matthews Cemetery. A public memorial service will be conducted Sunday, July 22, at 4:00 PM Sardis Baptist Church, 218 Sardis Road, Saluda, SC 29138. The family will receive visitors after the service at the church, and the family will also receive visitors at the home.
