Mary Helen Harmon Boatwright

Mary Helen Harmon Boatwright, age 82, beloved wife of Mr. David Borell Boatwright of Ridge Spring, entered into rest on Sunday, June 15, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel, Batesburg-Leesville, SC., with the Reverend Steve Jones officiating. Interment to follow at Ridge Spring Cemetery. She was born in Saluda on January 29, 1932, a daughter of the late Luther Harmon and Cory Lee Parrish Harmon of Ward. Mary Helen was a faithful member of the Bessie Dubose Sunday school class and WMU of Ridge Spring Baptist Church. She retired as an LPN with Aiken Hospital after having begun her nursing career in 1965. She was a devoted wife and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who adored her four grandchildren and ten great grand-children. She gained many friends through years of travel and camping. In addition to her loving husband of sixty-two years, Mrs. Boatwright is survived by her three children, Bob (Denise) of Ward, Debra Workman (Curtis) of Beech Island, and Danny (Ronda) of St. Augustine, FL, as well as her sister, Margaret McGee of Saluda. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, one half-brother and two sisters. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 6pm - 8pm.
