Mary Lois Johnson Merchant

Mrs. Mary Lois Johnson Merchant, 86, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 23, 2018.

Born in Lexington County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Isaiah Johnson and Mosie Lee Palmer Johnson Baker. She was predeceased by her husband Matthew Raydell Merchant, sisters, Margaret Rebecca Johnson Voiselle, Lanelle Virginia Johnson Taylor and a brother, Lewis Benjamin Johnson. She is survived by a sister, Thelma Elizabeth Johnson Attaway, nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed gardening and fishing and spending time with her family and friends.

Services will be held at Hopewell Congregational Holiness Church at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 26, with Rev. Larry Roland officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. in the fellowship hall prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sardis Baptist Church.
