Mattie Lake Myers

Mattie Lake Myers, 98, of Batesburg, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 4, at Sardis Baptist Church with interment in Furman Matthews Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Active pallbearers are David Myers, Russell Shealy, Tom Pugh, Chris Pugh, Greg Boozer and John Shealy. Mrs. Myers was born in Saluda County daughter of the late John and Pearl Dukes Lake. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. She was married to the late Samuel Davis Myers. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Gwendolyn Shealy (Billy); Jackie Pugh; Sara Lees (Mike); son and daughter-in-law, Richard Myers (Priscilla); eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, John Wayne Myers; sister, Emmy Boozer; and brothers, Noah, Jim Frank, and Ralph Lake; and son-in-law, TB Pugh. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday, January 3, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to: Sardis Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 218 Sardis Road, Saluda, SC 29138.
