Michael Brice Garvin

Michael Brice Garvin, 34, of Aiken, passed away in the presence of the Lord on the night of Friday, August 18, 2023. Michael was born to William Howard and Nancy Hodson Garvin on Wednesday, September 28th, 1988 in Augusta, GA. He grew up and attended school in Aiken County, where he made many lifelong friends.

With a smile and laugh that could light up any room, Michael was easily loved by many. You'd often find him on the lake fishing, in the woods hunting, or working on his trucks. He adored his family, friends and his dog, Sadie. Edisto Beach was a favorite place of his, he vacationed with his family there almost every summer. Michael was a strong, but caring man and many admired him. He was an extremely kind and unique soul. The loss of Michael Brice Garvin weighs heavy in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will be carried by his friends and family forever.

Surviving are his parents, William "Bill" and Nancy Garvin; and his siblings, Christopher H. Garvin (Elaine) and Stacey Garvin. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Howard and Lorene Garvin and his maternal grandparents, James Edward and Jewell Hodson.

A funeral honoring Michael's life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 23rd at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Ridge Spring, SC., with Rev. Vollie Gibbs officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 22nd at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be: Timothy Yonce, Mark Yonce, Jr., Taylor Melcher, Blake Faulkner, Mike Melton and Patrick Darr.
