Mildred Smith

Mildred Smith, 77, of Leesville, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 27, at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Paulling and Rev. Henry Cooper officiating. Visitation will be held after the service at the church. Mrs. Smith was born in Salley, SC, daughter of the late Richard Garrick and Alma Huckabee Garrick. She was preceded by her loving husband of 52 years, Murrell Smith. Nanny always had a smile on her face through her entire sickness and life. She enjoyed dancing and listening to music. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wallace (Patricia) Smith; daughter, Joyce Padgett and fianc̩, David Berrian; sister, Frances Smith; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by sister, Shirley Mack; and brother, Richard "Pete" Garrick. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, 5 Lion Loop, Batesburg, SC 29006 or Pine Grove Baptist Church, 236 Pine Grove Road, Leesville, SC 29070.
