Muriel Rodgers Hall

Ruth Muriel Rodgers Hall, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Born on May 30, 1933 in Lexington County, the daughter of the late Benjamin Frank and Ruth Corley Rodgers was married to the late Marvin Vernon Hall from 1954 until his death in 1990.

A 1950 graduate of Monetta high school, Muriel worked for Seibels, Bruce, and Co. for several years. Most of her years were spent as a mother, homemaker, and helping to run the family farm.

Mrs. Hall was an active member of Mt. Ebal Baptist Church where she served on numerous committees, was Children’s Sunday School Director for 32 years, church treasurer of 30 years, and an active member of the WMU. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lever Bell FCL club for over 35 years. She was inducted into the SC Master Farm Homemaker Guild in 1994.

Surviving are three sons and wives, Roger M. Hall (Cynthia) of Aiken, Patrick R. Hall, Sr. (Paula Hull) of Batesburg-Leesville, Timothy K. Hall (Jenny) of Aiken; two nieces reared in the home, Salena D. Boatwright (Roger) of Batesburg-Leesville, Kassandra D. Moneymaker of Lexington and the love of her life and the joy of her heart were her ten much loved grandchildren, Patrick “JR” Hall, Jr (Liz), Josh Boatwright (Morgan), Tristin Padgett (Denver), Ben Hall, Ansley Moneymaker, Braumly Moneymaker, Jordan Hall, Ethan Hall, Wyatt Hall and Dutch Compo, and two great grandchildren, Dani DiFranco and Lyla Rose Padgett. She enjoyed spending time with them making happy memories. She supported them in their academic, athletic and music endeavors.

Also surviving are brothers, Ray Rodgers and Jimmy Rodgers both of Batesburg-Leesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hall, Wyman Hall (Betty Jean), Tony Hall (Kathy) all of Batesburg-Leesville, and former daughter-in-law, Candy S. Hall of Aiken. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, she loved and was loved in return. She is preceded in death by her sister, Peggy R. Douglas.

She is also survived by the “Golden Girls”, Clara Mae Brown, Rae Hall and Betty Hartley.

Mrs. Hall loved traveling, volunteering, the Gamecocks, and working in her yard, especially with her iris and day lilies.

She loved her family, her friends, and serving the Lord in her church and community, she will be missed.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 25 at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 26 at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery with Rev. Kyle Harmon and Rev. Bill Paulling officiating. Active pallbearers will be Rod Hutto, Neal Shealy, Danny Pierce, Ryan Hartley, Wayne Williams, Parker Hall, Terry Rodgers, and Patrick Hutto. Honorary pallbearers will be Bart Heard, Nicole Setree, Dean and Ollie Mitchell, Tony Riendeu, Jim and Nan Cook, Clara Mae Brown, Rae Hall, Betty Hartley, Fannie Mae & JI Hall, Tootsie Kneece, Kim Hall, Willie Lien, Mt. Ebal Sunday School Class and the hostesses committee.
