Olin Wingate Sr.

Rev. Olin William Wingate, Sr., 78, of Ridge Spring, SC passed away on February 15, 2023 at Saluda Nursing and Rehab Hospice Center in Saluda, SC. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18th at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 164 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Ridge Spring, SC 29129. Rev. Wingate was a son of the late Jessie R. Wingate and Ethel Veronica Williams Wingate of Luray, SC.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Janette Wingate of Saluda, SC; sons, Olin W. Wingate, Jr. (Rhonda) of Nixville, SC, and Jack Wayne Wingate of Hendersonville, NC; and a daughter, Tammy Wynett Stack (Fletcher R. Stack III) of Ridge Spring, SC. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; brother, John WIngate of Michigan and sister, Ethel Wingate of Alabalma. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Quillie Winfred Wingate (aka: Justin E. Paige) and siblings, Rev. James Wingate, Tommy Wingate and Katie Jowers.

Rev. Wingate was a Baptist Pastor and past master of Stafford Masonic Lodge #216 in Furman, SC and was a active member of Travis Lodge #214 of Saluda, SC where he served as chaplain for several years.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, play ground equipment fund or to Travis Masonic Lodge #241 of Saluda, SC.
