Olympia Preston Elkins III

Olympia Preston Elkins, III, 73, of Gilbert, passed away on March 17, 2025. Born in Richland County, SC, he was the son of the late Olympia Preston Elkins II and Mary Louise Kelly. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Roberta H. Elkins.

Mr. Elkins found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, hunting, music, and cooking. He was a dedicated employee of Walmart, Inc., where he worked for twenty years.

Surviving are his son, Olympia Preston Elkins, IV; grand-daughters, Keeli and Kaali Elkins; as well as his brother, Harry Elkins; and sister, Tammie Ray.

A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Elkin's life will be held a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help offset funeral costs at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, 115 North Pine Street, Batesburg, SC 29006.
