Patrick "Pat" Hall Sr.

Patrick "Pat" Ryan Hall, Sr, 61, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, leaving behind a lifetime of telling stories, living, laughing, and loving hard. A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 25th at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church (livestreaming on the church's Facebook page) with interment in the church cemetery, Rev. Bill Paulling officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday, April 24th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, 115 N. Pine Street, Batesburg, SC.

Mr. Hall was born in Columbia, South Carolina, a son of the late Marvin and Muriel Rodgers Hall. Pat was raised on the family farm, where his parents tried unsuccessfully to work him to death. It was here Pat developed his lifelong fondness of horticulture, and showed a proclivity for flipping tractors and sustaining unusual injuries. He was a retired carpenter, although he dabbled in numerous other jobs over the years. Pat was an avid reader of historical books and a collector of antiques, notably soda bottles. Pat enjoyed living in the country, walking in the woods, and riding his Harley. Pat had no trouble telling you his thoughts on any subject, including you. Pat loved talking and telling stories, and his year culminated every September with a party filled with good food, music, and a gathering of the wide range of people Pat called friends and family.

Surviving are his wife, Paula Raines Hull; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick “JR.” Ryan Hall, Jr (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Danyail Hall , Lotti and Brody McGuckin; brothers, Roger Hall (Cynthia), Timothy Hall (Jenny); sisters, Salena Boatwright (Roger) and Kassandra Moneymaker (Nick); stepsons, Benjamin Hull and Jason R Hull (Samantha); step-daughters, Heather Hull Hartley (Christopher) and Amanda Hull. Pat is also survived by uncles, Jimmy Rodgers, Ray Rodgers, Wyman Hall (Betty), Tony Hall (Kathy); aunt, Phyllis Hall; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and the many friends he considered family.

If you ever met Pat, you have a story to tell; everyone who knew him does. If you have one, smoke it in Pat's memory.
