Paul Gregory Edelen Sr.

Paul G. Edelen, Sr., 66, of West Columbia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Born in West Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Earl E. Edelen, Sr. and Julia Ann Baxter Edelen. Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a mechanic at heart and by trade, a skill he carried with him throughout his life. Paul proudly served in the United States Army as a mechanic and had a deep love for classic cars. His passion for the military inspired one of his grandsons to follow in his footsteps, while his love for cars ignited a similar interest in another grandson.

Though not all of his children and grandchildren were biological, Paul never saw a difference. He embraced them all with open arms and loved them as his own.

Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Kimberly Edelen; his children, P.J., Bonny, and Rebecca; his grandchildren, Nick, Hope, Dolan, Alex, Gabe, and Elijah; his sister, Linda; and his brother, Earl. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy; his brother, Randy; and his sister, Joyce.

Paul’s love, warmth, and presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
