Paul Dayton Watson,72, of Leesville passed away on Thursday, December 5th, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 29th, 1952, he was the son of the late Charles Dayton and Vonda Lee Sharrer Watson.
A man of many talents and interests, Paul was a ‘jack of all trades’ whose passions included horses, singing, and swimming. His warmth and sincerity were felt by all who met him, earning him the endearing title of a family man, loved by everyone who crossed his path. Professionally, Paul was a carpenter and a home inspector, earning a reputation for excellence and integrity in his work. Paul was a proud U.S. Army veteran and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Paul was deeply committed to his family, a pillar of strength and steadfast affection for his beloved wife, Darlene Watson. His life was further enriched by his three daughters: Darla Watson, who alongside her husband Matthew, showed unparalleled devotion; Pauline Watson Quinones and her husband Jeremy, who cherished every moment spent together; and Tammy Watson Colleu with her husband Xavier, who shared in life's joyous occasions. He also held a special place for his nephew and son in spirit, Matthew Marso and his wife Felicia.
As a grandfather, Paul found immense pride and joy in his grandchildren: Matai, Ryker, Braxton, and Karsen Nelson; Tylor (with his wife Maryna), Chayton, Jorden, Kayla, and Alyssa Quinones; and Dayton, Evan, and Cayden Colleu. His love echoed through generations, reaching even his great-granddaughter, Sarah Quinones. Beyond his immediate family, he was adored by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Dayton Rex Watson and Vonda Lee Watson, as well as his sister, Susan Branham.
The service for Paul will be held at 12 noon on Monday, December 9th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2224 Augusta Highway, Lexington, SC with visitation one hour prior to the service from 11 until 12 o'clock in the relief society room at the church. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Centerville Cemetery, Ridgway, South Carolina.
