Peggy O'Neal Duhamel

Peggy O'Neal Duhamel, 89, of Leesville, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Born in Saluda, SC, she was a daughter of the late Cole Blease Hurt, Sr. and Christine Mitchell Hurt. She was married to the late Ronald Joseph Duhamel, Sr. Peggy was a member of First Baptist Church of Gilbert.

Surviving are her children, Joey Duhamel (Beverly) of Baskin, LA, Thomas Duhamel (Joan) of Saluda, Tonya Davis (Tom) of Augusta, GA and Tracey Ferrell of Monore, LA; along with 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Alian Hurt, Cole Blease Hurt, Jr. and Russell Hurt; and sisters, Alden Crapps and Glinda Gunter.

The family will greet friends from 2 until 3 o'clock on Friday, April 25th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with a graveside service immediately following at 4 o'clock in Hurt Cemetery, Saluda, SC. The Rev. Mark Sanders will officiate. The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedysis Hospice and her caregivers, Hope Eubanks and Robin Corder for their love and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gilbert, Youth Program, 441 Lewie St, Gilbert, SC 29054 or the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
