Peggy Rodgers Douglas

March 16, 1943 — April 28, 2017

Peggy Rodgers Douglas peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on April 28, 2017. Born March 16, 1943, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Rodgers & Ruth Corley Rodgers and raised in Batesburg, SC. She was blessed with two brothers, Ray Rodgers & Jimmy Rodgers, and a sister Muriel Rodgers Hall. Her two sisters in law, Annette Rodgers and Betty Rodgers and brother in law Marvin Hall, greeted her in heaven.

With a smile and laughter in tow, she answered the call of adventure. Making her place in Hawaii, Virginia, Nevada, North Carolina, Kentucky, even spending many years on the Mississippi River, to return to South Carolina in 1996. During this journey she and the late William “Red” Douglas loving welcomed two daughters, Salena Douglas Boatwright (Roger) of Batesburg and Kassandra Douglas Moneymaker of Lexington, who continued to fill their hearts with 5 grandchildren, Josh Boatwright (Morgan) of Anderson, Tristan Boatwright Padgett (Denver) of Ridge Spring and Ansley Moneymaker, Braumly Moneymaker, Dutch Compo of Lexington and the newest addition great granddaughter, Lyla Rose Padgett.

As a three time Cancer survivor and eight year lymphedema survivor she leaves a legacy of Courage, Strength and Determination. A celebration of the her life and legacy will held Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 4pm in the sanctuary at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church with a Sweets and Treats visitation to follow in the fellowship hall. The family asks donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
