Randolph Harold Coffee, Sr., 71, died peacefully on April 9, 2016 at his home in Leesville, SC following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April15, at Jackson Creek Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery with Rev. Charles Stalvey officiating.
Mr. Coffee was born in Anderson, SC, son of the late Leonard Isiah Coffee and Lettie Ester Brown Coffee. His dedication to his country throughout the years of service earned him the following declarations: Expert; M-16 Rifle; 3 Good Conduct Medals; Army Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Vietnam Service Medal with two service stars; Army Service Ribbon; Bronze Star Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral 1 Overseas service Bar. He left the US Army as SSG Coffee in 1982 and pursed a career with the U.S. Postal Service. Randolph never met a stranger and was known for always helping others.
Randolph is survived by his daughter, Kathy Jaynes (Buddy) of Leesville; son, Randolph “Bennie” Coffee, Jr (Vonda) of Leesville; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; ten nieces and nephews; and many many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother; two sisters and wife, Patricia Coffee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner Club or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
