Randy Hughes

Talton Randolph "Randy" Hughes, 43, (August 7, 1977 - April 20, 2021) of Martinez, Georgia and formerly of Leesville, South Carolina passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 following a brief illness. Randy was born in Columbia, and was the son of Dorothy "Dodie" and Laurence "Larry" Hall. He was a 1995 graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High School and a member of First Calvary Baptist Church of Leesville. Randy, affectionally known as "Countrytime" to his many truck driving brothers and sisters, owned and operated JRZ Transfer LLC. He was a loving son, husband, father and friend to many.

Randy is survived by his parents, Dodie and Larry Hall; his "wifey", JoAnn C. Hughes; and his son, Gage Adam Lee Hopkins of Hoopeston, IL. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Esther Boozer (Leslie) and Wanda Taylor (Luther) as well as numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carson and Loretta Smith.

The service for Randy will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 1st at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, 115 N. Pine Street, Batesburg, SC. Mrs. Beverly Taylor will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning from 12 until 1:00 p.m. The family request in Randy's honor to please dress casual and come as you are. Randy had a great love for pets and military veterans. Therefore, the family request memorials may be made to any pet or veterans organization of your choice.
