Ray Thomas Satterfield

Ray Thomas Satterfield of Leesville, passed away on March 12, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born to the late Thomas and Ruby Satterfield and was a master carpenter who enjoyed nature and the simple pleasures of life. He spent his years building a life with his wife of 55 years, Terry Satterfield. Together, they raised their four daughters and enjoyed many travels together.

Ray is survived by his wife, Terry and four daughters: Martha "Kitty" Russell and her husband, Tom; Brandie Walker and her husband, Dean; Shalon Howard and her husband, Shawn; and Shara Satterfield; eight grandchildren: Houston Russell, Mahalia Russell, Deantha Dunning, Rae Dunning, Shelby Wanzer, Shawn Howard Jr., Simone Howard, and Sebastian Howard; as well as seven great-grandchildren: Lyric Butler, Jarod Pound, Kyan Wanzer, Walker Howard, Waylon Howard, Keiper Wanzer, and Rosabela Dunning. Ray is also survived by his siblings, Kenneth Satterfield, Alice Reeves (Johnny), Bonnie Fancher (Bob), Roy Satterfield (Elaine), and Mary Cameron; his closest family: Vic and Betty Satterfield, Marlene Sayre, Sherry and Jimmy Summers, and Kathy and George Taylor.

Ray’s presence will be profoundly missed, but his influence and love will continue to shape the lives of those he leaves behind. A remembrance of his life will be held at a later date.
