Richard “Rick” Joseph Guiney, Jr., 68, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Born in Richmond, Virginia, he was a son of Mary Jeanne Wiggins Guiney and the late Richard Joseph Guiney. Rick was a proud graduate of The Citadel, where he attended on a swimming athletic scholarship. In his career, Rick was a licensed real estate appraiser until his retirement. He then later continued his professional endeavors with Palmetto Mortuary Transport, a job that he loved immensely.

Rick will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of others. He was a source of strength and support to his family and all who knew him. A patriotic man of character and integrity, funny and caring, Rick loved his family unconditionally and always put others first. He enjoyed watching sports, playing cards with his brothers and spending time with his wife Jennifer and their friends. A devoted father, Rick cherished spending time with his son Grayson. Rick was an avid history buff and a life-long learner with a deep interest in genealogy, an interest he shared with his sister.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Jeanne Guiney; wife, Jennifer McFall; son, Grayson Riley Guiney; and his stepdaughter, Hannah McFall Stone. He is also survived by his siblings, Timothy Guiney (Liz), Gregory Guiney (Courtney), Christopher Guiney, and Mary Anne Stephens (Colin); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
