Richard Lee Hodge, Sr.

Richard Lee Hodge Sr., 78, of Leesville passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. Mr. Hodge was born in Berlin, Germany. He served in the United States Army as a drill sergeant and won awards for his excellence in riffle shooting.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Marie Ricard Hodge; two sons, Richard Lee Hodge, Jr. and Tommy Gene Hodge (Carrie Marie); and granddaughter, Alexis Marie Hodge. Also surviving are his sister, Elke Weese; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The funeral for Mr. Hodge will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 7th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with burial immediately following in St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pastor Peter Morey will officiate. Active pallbearers will be: Tommy Hodge, David Rikard, Daniel McGee, Kenny Padgett and Brian Black. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Sunday, August 6th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home.
