Richard Leonard Lane

Richard Leonard Lane, 72, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Monday, November 28, at Providence Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery with military honors and masonic rites with Rev. Larry Pitts and Rev. Ron Pelfrey officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at the church before the service, other times at his home.

Mr. Lane was the son of the late Leonard and Odessa Lucas Lane. He retired from J.B Martin after 30 plus years as a textile fixer. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and brotherhood director. He served the Lord God and his church. Mr. Lane was a member of the Batesburg-Leesville Masonic Lodge #138. He was an Army National Guard Veteran. He was an avid Clemson fan, hunter and fisherman. Mr. Lane loved his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Patsy Whittle Lane; son, Scott Lane; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Lane (Billy) Rowe; Kelly Lane (Chad) Smith; grandchildren, Mackenzie Lane; Tyler Lane; and Chase and Hannah Smith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Garkisch.
