Robert L. "Billy" Mize, Jr

Robert L. "Billy" Mize, Jr, 75, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Friday, October 24, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Mize was born in White Plains, GA, son of the late Robert L. Mize, Sr and Helen Griffith Chalker. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran. He was a former owner of Independent Choice Insurance. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Mize; daughter, Melanie (Mark) Hipp of Prosperity; brothers, Millard Mize of Royston, GA; Larry Mize; Gerald Mize both of Mansfield, GA; James W. "Sonny" Fitzpatrick of Westpoint, GA; Dennis G. Mize of Milledgeville, GA; Gary Mize of Watkinsville, GA; sisters, Sandra Johnson of Dallas, GA; Brenda Edwards of White Plains, GA; Jenny Parker of Rayle, GA; grandchildren, Brandon M. (Jennifer) Shaw of Decatur, GA ; Daniel A. (Whitney) Shaw of Batesburg; great grandson, Bowen Shaw of Decatur, GA; and best friend and farming partner, Bruce Shaw. He was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Mize and Lucretia Harwell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675.
