SSGT Roger Dennis Hensley, 68, of Batesburg died Thursday, January 21, 2021. Born in Munich, Germany on October 31, 1952, he was a son of the late Paul C. Hensley and Dorothy Henderson Hensley. Mr. Hensley was the owner of Hensley's Auto and Truck Repair until his retirement and was a U.S. Airforce veteran having served during the Vietnam Era.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Collins Engel; daughters, Denise Hensley, Tesha Hensley-Brown (TJ), Jenn Hensley, Candace Engel, Raine Cherry; brothers, Paul C Hensley II (Yong); sisters, Ann Linguiti (Wayne), Sherree Barton (David), Paula Mallory (Mike), six grandchildren; one great grandchild. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Hensley.

The funeral service for Mr. Hensley will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 28th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel, 115 N. Pine Street, Batesburg with the Rev. Steve Jones Officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. A committal service with military honors will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 28th at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC.
