Rosalyn Nilda Aleman Chandler McNuer, 58, of Lexington, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021. She was born in Miami, Florida on May 4, 1962 to Pablo Aleman and Nieves Aleman Garcia. Affectionately known as “Roz”, she retired from AT&T with more than 30 years of service and was currently employed by the Steven Price Allstate Insurance Agency. Roz was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Lexington where she sang in the church choir and was involved with a number of other church ministries. She was a former volunteer with the Lexington County Election Commission and she was a former member of the Lexington County Choral Society. Roz was known for her cooking, her Cuban heritage, her bubbly and contagious personality, and many friendships.
Roz is survived by both her parents and her sister, Vivian Aleman Diaz; her niece, Alyssa Urrutia Diaz and nephew, Samuel Diaz; her former husband, James Chandler and her husband, David McNuer. She is also survived by many close friends, including Ann Behnke, Stacey Shultz, Sue Jones and Libba Rhoad. Roz was preceded in death only three months earlier by her dear friend, Clara “June” Mattox, for whom she had been co-worker, roommate, and caregiver, and her loyal dogs Jerry and Basil.
The service for Ms. McNuer will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 6th at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 403 Park Road, Lexington. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
