Ruby Cockrell Caughman

Ruby Christine Cockrell Caughman, 95, left her earthly home on November 22, 2023 and found the peace she wanted for so long. She is now in the arm of Jesus.

Mrs. Caughman was born in Batesburg, SC, the daughter of the late Jake and Stella Miller Cockrell. She was married to the late Robert T. Caughman and together they had four children. Mrs. Caughman worked at Saluda Shirt Plant, Knight Industries, Council on Aging, and was a home health caregiver. She enjoyed visiting with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughters, Lynn Caughman Black (Harold) and Shannon Caughman Hartley (Rodney); 8 grandchildren, Erin, Courtney (Adam), Breanna (Wil), Lakin (Collin), Dakoda, Paige, Haley and Cheyenne; and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Alton Cockrell (Maureen); and sister, Frances Storey (Carl). In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Lott; son, Robbie Caughman; brothers, John Earl, Marvin, Virgil, Hoyt; and sisters, Louise, Mildred and Rae.

A memorial service for Mrs. Caughman will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, November 30th, at Good Hope Lutheran Church, 4663 Spann Road, Ward, SC 29166. Causal dress or 'come as you are as Mama would say.

A special thanks to Courtney and Adam for the love and care given to Mama so unselfishly over the years. She loved you both, but especially her little sidekick Cameron.
