Ruth Waters Mabus

Ruth Waters Mabus, of Saluda, 99, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 28, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with interment in Gunter Cemetery with Rev. Justin Eshleman officiating. Visitation will be held after the service at the church. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Mrs. Mabus was born on July 11, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Furman and Trannie Clamp Waters. She was one of eighteen siblings. Mrs. Mabus was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, basket weaving and making quilts.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Mabus; Tommy (Pat) Mabus; Robert (June) Mabus; daughters, Ramona (Daniel) Hallman; Kay (Mike) Shirey; Dorothy “Dot” (Duane) Minick; Gail (Walter) Davidson; fifteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Trotter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church or Saluda Nursing Center.
