Seivern James "Sj" Johnson

Seivern James “S.J.” Johnson, 94, of Leesville, met his Lord on February 11, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, February 15, at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Paulling and Rev. Kyle Harmon sharing God’s final words with family and friends. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held after the service in the sanctuary.
Active pallbearers will be Rock, Brad, D.J. and Hunter Johnson, Melvin Hartley, Bill Watkins and Tim Watkins.

Mr. Johnson was born in Saluda, SC, son of the late James Seivern and Emma Ella Watkins Johnson. He was married to the late Leonell Hall Johnson. He was a member of Mt. Ebal Baptist Church where he loved and served faithfully. He was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corp where he served in the WWII. Mr. S.J. was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.

Surviving are his sons and daughter-in-law, Don (Marlene) Johnson; Mike (Lori) Johnson; grandchildren, D.J. (Ashley) Johnson; Brad (Sarah) Johnson; Rock (Bekah) Johnson; Hunter Johnson and Whitney Johnson; five great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ellaree (J.L.) Shealy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, 5 Lion Loop, Batesburg, SC 29006.

The family would like to thank special caregiver, Priscilla Jeffcoat and longtime special caregiver, Sandra Maynor. Also, thank the Agape Hospice staff. We will miss your love, but we will always have your Christian faith and generosity to guide us.
