Thomas Lorance Hendrix

Thomas Lorance Hendrix, 78, of North Augusta, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023. Mr. Hendrix was born in Ridge Spring, SC, son of the late McCoy Hendrix, Sr. and Pauline Williams Hendrix. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Army and a member of the American Legion Post #133. He retired from Savannah River Site and was the owner of Hendrix Used Cars. Mr. Hendrix loved God, his country, but most importantly his family especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his long-time sweetheart, Gloria A. Hopkins of Columbia; children, Thomas L. "Lance" Hendrix, II (Stewart) of Orangeburg, SC; Natasha Hendrix Jenkins (Mike) of Grovetown, GA; grandchildren, Leyton and Olivia Grace Hendrix; and a brother, Michael "Mickey" Hendrix (Jane); ex, Judy B. Hendrix. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, David and McCoy "Bug" Hendrix.

The funeral for Mr. Hendrix will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, October 15th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with burial following in Ridge Spring Cemetery. Mr. Larry Hendrix will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. before the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are strongly encouraged to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
