Tracy L. Smith, 58, of Batesburg, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2024. Born on February 28, 1966, he was the son of Barney Linwood Smith and Shirley Swygert Smith. Tracy was the owner and operator of Brooks Paint and Body, where he dedicated much of his life’s work. A man of many interests, Tracy found great joy in hunting, fishing, and following NASCAR. He was the proud father to his son and daughter and also his grandchildren, who he considered his greatest joys. He was a member of Hulon Baptist Church.


In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Ryan Smith (Marley); daughter, Chasity Bickley (Jesse); his grandchildren, Brookelyn Smith, Zoe Bickley, Callie Smith, and Wade Bickley. Tracy is also survived by his sister, Trudy Shealy (Sammy) and former wife, Lynn Sease Smith. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Brooks and Gladys Rankin Smith as well as his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Nola Swygert.


The funeral service for Tracy will be held at 3 o'clock on Monday, December 2nd at Hulon Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Culbertson and Rev. Mark Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 until 3 o'clock. Active pallbearers will be: Sonny Smith, David Smith, Clay Conyers, Jay Hallman, Gary Evans and Gabriel Greene. Milton Shealy Funeral Home is assisting the family.
