Virginia Hartley

Virginia D. Hartley passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 15, at Samaria Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery with Rev. John Yorio and Rev. Dennis Metts officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall at the church. Active pallbearers will be Gene Hartley, Kevin Hartley, Darren Spencer, Westley Hartley, Colton Hartley, Cody Spencer, Terry Bedenbaugh, and Robert Heyward. Honorary pallbearers will be Von Hiller, Bruce Reuter, Marion Reuter, and Eric Hartley.

Mrs. Hartley was born and raised in Prosperity, SC, daughter of the late Haskell and Julia Jefferson Derrick. She was married to the late Nelson Hartley. Mrs. Hartley was a resident of Batesburg.

Surviving are her sons, Gene (Angie) Hartley; Kevin (Sonya) Hartley; and Eric (Phyllis) Hartley; daughter, Tami H. (Darren) Spencer; sister, Miriam Reuter; sister-in-law, Peggy Derrick; grandchildren, Lacye Oswald; Alease Harmon; Kristen Pugh; Kasey Williams; Colton Hartley; Laken Hartley (deceased); Cody Spencer; Samantha Spencer; great grandchildren, Grace McGlocklin; Ashton Harmon; Noah Harmon; Josiah Harmon; Hunter Pugh; and Charlie Pugh. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joel and Ibra “Doc” Derrick; sisters, Josey Hiller and Christine Richbourg.
