William "Bill" Lloyd Rodgers, 81, of Ward, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022. Mr. Rodgers was born in Saluda County, a son of the late Julia Norris Rodgers Harmon and Lloyd Rodgers. He was a member of Jesus Deliverance Tabernacle Church, served as an Evangelist and loved sharing the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Mr. Rodgers enjoyed working hard and going camping.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Betty McCormick Hall Rodgers; children, Sherry Jean Rodgers Kirkland, William "Billy" Rodgers (Kim), Retha Rena Hall Koon, Janet Lee Hall Straw (Mike); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Homer Rodgers; and sisters, Coriame Bailey, Teresa Taylor and Mimie Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Randall Crawford Hall and Michael Wayne Hall; and siblings, Mae Workman, Carie Belle Cockrell, Samuel Rodgers and Trudell Rodgers.
The funeral service for Mr. Rodgers will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 27th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with burial immediately following in Travis Park Cemetery. Rev. Mark Barlow, Sr. and Rev. Cindy Gilliam will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of his daughter, Janet.
