William Hartwell Evans

William Hartwell "Billy" Evans, 86, of Batesburg, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024. Mr. Evans was born in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Baynard C. and Jessie Lee Mizzell Evans. He was a United States National Guard Veteran and worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard for many years. Mr. Evans was an avid Nascar fan and loved riding around town. 

Surviving are his precious and loving companion since 1997, Bobbie Strickland; sister, Lois Hammersteah (Mark); brother, Bobby Evans; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Evans also considered family, Steve Strickland (Kim) and their sons, Ben and Lee Strickland of Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Albert Evans; and sister, Julie King.  

At this time no services for Mr. Evans are being held.
